Our Story: During 2021 Texas Winter Storm, our neighborhood was one of the few neighborhoods in the entire state of Texas to have running water and power as our neighborhood was on the major hospital grid. Without power to run water treatment plants, city and state officials across Texas were pleading with residents to conserve water and were issuing boil-water notices. And since most of our neighborhood was running on gas for cooking, with very few houses having electric cooking ranges, most of the neighbors were depending on those few neighbors for supplying the rest of the homes with boiled drinking water. And that is when we started seeing the need for an ultra low-cost, easy-to-use water contaminant detector, which can detect beyond just the usual heavy metals, viruses and bacteria.
